This site is intended to support Superintendent Tom Horne's K-12 Adult Volunteer Initiative.
A statewide network of community organizations, civic groups, retirement organizations, agencies and public schools committed to promoting meaningful adult volunteerism in schools.
In alignment with Superintendent Horne's 2005 initiatives, the Arizona Department of Education has established a state wide partnership with organizations that are eager to help link adult volunteers with classrooms across the state. The K-12 Adult Volunteer Initiative is a system that will make it easier for schools and districts to link with volunteer organizations to bring adult volunteers into classrooms to address an identified need. The need can be individual tutoring, mentoring, classroom assistance or any other identified area.
The partnering organizations will aid in recruiting, training and linking adult volunteers with schools.
