Our students have been actively identifying needy and elderly individuals who need light repair on their homes. Because our school is Pre-to eighth grade, we have to be careful to chose jobs that our students can assist with yet not be endangered. There are currently two households in need of assistance. One elderly couple is in need of a safe porch off the front of their house; the grandmother has already fallen! Another couple has a leak in one side of their house and will need the roof repaired or replaced in that area. We would ask that volunteers have a knowledge of carpentry and a willingness to share that knowledge with young people from 6th to 8th grade. This opportunity is sponsored by: The STAR School
