The Feline Adoption & Rescue Society (FARS) is an organization committed to helping cats and kittens. Through our Adoption Programs we help cats and kittens find “forever homes” where they will be cared for and loved.
Purpose:
Make it possible for homeless cats to find loving, permanent homes by ensuring cats are well cared for while at the FARS adoption center(s).
Duties:

  1. Providing each cat with adequate food, water, and medication (if needed).
  2. Cleaning cat cages and shelter areas in accordance with Department of Agricultural Resources regulations and FARS policies.
  3. Monitoring cats’ condition and notifying FARS of any health or behavioral concerns.
  4. Completing cat care forms/checklists.
  5. Socializing cats through attention, regular grooming, and play time.
  6. Working courteously and cooperatively with FARS staff and volunteers, PetsMart staff, and the general public.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
  8. Qualifications:

    1. 18 years of age or older
    2. Affection for animals and concern for their welfare.
    3. Reliable and responsible.
    4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    5. Experience working with cats, familiarity with cat behavior, and knowledge of common medical conditions.
    6. Ability to properly handle cats, including humanely restraining when necessary.
    7. Comfort working with animals of unknown disposition and possible medical or behavioral problems.
    8. Ability to lift and move objects and animals weighing up to 25 pounds for short distances.
    9. Ability to follow procedures and properly complete paperwork.
