Prepare and share delicious meals for the elderly, make no-sew fleece blankets for needy children, assemble Braille books for blind children, improve trails and plant native species, or perform other needed tasks with your company's employees during business hours by partnering with PMD. Successful corporate volunteer projects build camaraderie among participants AND make a real difference to those in need. PMD works with each company to identify clear goals and objectives so that we can match the right, high-impact project to your company. Furthermore, PMD customizes and personalizes each volunteer project for your company. We handle all of the organization, planning, and detailed logistics (including travel if you work outside your office) required for a successful volunteer experience so that your employees can "jump right in" as well as learn valuable and meaningful information about the charity and people they are assisting. By partnering with PMD, you simply need to recruit the participants by adapting our proven, volunteer recruiting messages. PMD has partnered with several companies--in 2008, these included Bingham McCutchen, British Telecom Conferencing, Cornerstone Research, Keystone Partners, Pearl, Meyer & Partners, and the U.S. Department of Education. During business hours, PMD organizes customized projects tailored to corporate values and interests as well as community needs. Companies recruit volunteers and contribute resources like funding for groceries, bingo prizes, and other project-selection-specific materials. PMD conveniently obtains and stages all of the tools and materials, and orients and manages volunteers so that they work effectively together and connect with community charities. Pro bono projects are half-day in length, involve 15-20 employees, and take place four times during two years. Less or more frequent volunteer projects of different sizes can be tailored to your needs for hourly consulting fees.
Companies are responsible for selecting projects that match company and employee values, interests, and skills and for providing/funding materials needed to carry out the projects that they select. They are also responsible for internal volunteer recruitment so that agreed upon staffing levels are met, as well as prompt reimbursement for invoiced expenses. Volunteers themselves are responsible for getting to/from the project sites (which can be a company conference room) as well as participating for the entire project time span without actively using cell phones and pagers, and not using iPods, walkmen, and other devices which impede communication with colleagues.
