As a nonprofit organization, we rely solely on private donations and community support. In order to care for the over 5,000 animals we adopt out each year, we have both large and small fundraisers throughout the year. Every donation, large or small, helps care for abandoned animals in our community, educates the community on responsible pet ownership and most of all, helps us to Adopt Love.

We are looking for long-term volunteers willing to help with these various fundraisers. While they may not involve working directly with our shelter animals, rest assured that 100% of the profits from these fundraisers go back to the LHS animals.

Volunteers may be responsible for handing out information, working registration at various event, helping with silent auctions, setup for events, and many other things.

Time is a valuable gift to offer LHS and the animals we serve. Volunteers are very important to the Lexington Humane Society!

We require that all of our volunteers go through a two-part volunteer orientation. It is two sessions, and you will need to attend both of those sessions.
