We have the following volunteer opportunities:
•Wishing trees- (1 person) help guests write their wishes and blessings on ribbon and then hang on trees

•Letters to Santa – (1 person) help children write their letters to Santa (after Christmas children write their Thank You’s to Santa)

•Cookie Decorating – (1 person) assist children with frosting cookies, keep the table tidy, and keep up with supplies from concession-can get messy!!

•Santa line assistant – (2 people) help maintain an orderly line while children wait to see Santa and answer questions about photography, etc (Santa’s line is over after Christmas).

•Greeter/floater – (1 person) actively welcome guests into the area, explain what’s going on, and fill in with any of the above assignments as needed

•Campfire monitor – (1 person) Only outside activity. Keep the campfire going at a nice low (non-bonfire) level. Make sure guests do not step into the pit, close to the fire.

•New Year’s Party Favor – (2 people) After Christmas.

•(3 people)We also have Holiday Trainland in White River Gardens. Train Monitors help guests with scavenger hunts, and make sure the trains are not off the tracks. Shift times are Noon-4:30pm and 4:30-9pm, same dates as the rest of the Zoo.

We will be hosting three event orientations (please attend one): November 22 at 10am, November 25 at 6pm, and December 2 at 6pm.
Volunteers not currently registered with the Zoo must submit a Special Event Volunteer form and sign a waiver document prior to volunteering at the Zoo. Individuals must be 17 in order to volunteer.
