Pernet aims, through its continued services and programs to provide long-term strengthening and enhancement of family life.

Description:
Located on Millbury Street, in the Green Island section of Worcester, Pernet Family Health Service provides home-based nursing, health services, and an Early Intervention Program (a developmental program for children up to three years of age); a Family Life Program that provides emergency assistance, spiritual development, programs for youth and teens; and Family Support Services that offer parent education and support.

History:
The Little Sisters of the Assumption came to Worcester in 1955 to work with families and their children. The essential Mission of the Sisters is to provide health care and support to poor families and revitalize the spirit of those degraded by poverty.

In 1968, the Sisters incorporated under the title of Pernet Family Health Service, named after the order's founder, Fr. Stephen Pernet, A.A., an Assumptionist priest. The service became a home health agency certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Today it is a major provider of home health care and Early Intervention services to mothers, infants and families in the Worcester area.
