Volunteer drivers are needed to help elderly residents get the medical services they need. Many of the city's older population is homebound and does not have transportation to doctor's appointments. Volunteers are needed to take people to and from their medical appointments in town and surrounding communities. Volunteer drivers are asked to use their own car but RSVP will provide mileage reimbursement at $0.20 per mile. Drivers will also receive supplemental liability and automobile insurance at no charge. What a terrific opportunity to help your older neighbors get the medical help they need to stay safe and healthy in their own homes.
Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of Greater New Haven is providing training for volunteers. The first training session is the afternoon of February 13th. For more information, please contact RSVP. This opportunity is sponsored by: RSVP Of Central CT
