![]() Join the volunteer Maine Trail Crew during the summer of 2009 and spend a week or more helping to build and protect the Appalachian Trail. Project sites are remote, on mountains or near lakes in central and northern Maine. The crews tackle large scale projects such as re-locations, restoration and rehabilitation of the AT. Projects involve working with hand tools and rigging systems; getting dirty is guaranteed. No previous trail experience is necessary - just a desire to work hard, live in the back country and have a great time among friends. Crews work 8-hour days, rain or shine, hot or cold regardless of black flies, mosquitoes or other aggravations. Crew members must be able to hike in rugged terrain, carrying ample weight to back country locations. This opportunity is sponsored by: Maine Appalachian Trail Club, Inc. We need volunteers who are free at these times
