Mercy Education Project is one of the few GED preparation programs in metropolitan Detroit with specific tutoring and classes for students who are at pre-GED reading levels. We are in need of a short-term volunteer instructor to use a prescribed curriculum to teach grammar and writing skills to women at the 5th - 9th grade reading levels. Instructor is needed Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - noon, from the last week of November until the last week of January, excluding holiday breaks. Proficiency with grammar and writing, and an ability to instruct in a group setting, are critical. Teaching background preferred but not essential. Understanding of the challenges faced by learning disadvantaged students is helpful. This opportunity is sponsored by: Mercy Education Project
