When you see an elderly person, do you smile and wonder what kind of life they had or how they are living today; or perhaps does your heart aches just a bit when you notice that their memory is slipping away and wonder how you can help them? People like you with caring feelings for our seniors and/or with memory lost, are the types of volunteers that we are looking for. The C.A.R.E. Club is Boise’s first non profit adult day care for those afflicted with early stages Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Volunteers are needed to interact with our members through conversations, walking; exercising, playing games, doing various forms of art, sing a longs, playing cards, etc. or helping with meal preparation and clean up. Perhaps you can be the next volunteer that will witness a member enjoying painting for the first time in their life and seeing their caregiver overjoyed with amazement of their accomplishment!
All volunteers will meet with the Executive Director, spend a couple of hours with our members before making a decision on whether or not this is the right fit for both the volunteer and the Club. Volunteers will have a background check and will go through a brief training program. In the best interest of our members, Volunteers must be able to give a minimum of 3 hours of their time. This opportunity is sponsored by: Community Alzheimer's Respite And Enrichment Program
