Come spend your Wednesday afternoons having fun at your Volunteer Center! We will be gleaning food in the neighborhood around the Volunteer Center with Iskash*taa Refugee Harvesting Network. This will be a 10 week project beginning January 23rd; we'll meet from 4 to 5:30. We'll learn about local foods systems and the challenges experienced by refugee communities, map our local neighbors' resources using GIS software, and then go harvest a ton of fruit! Gleaned fruit will go out to refugee communities in need. Come meet new people have some fun, and get to know your Volunteer Center and the YVC Team Leaders! I LOVE HUMMINGBIRDS

I had so much fun at this project! I had to get up REALLY early and we had a long car ride but it was totally worth it! My favorite part was being able to catch the hummingbirds on my own. I learned a lot about these awesome birds.

That's why I had so much fun with this project. It's a very hands on experience. My favorite part though was painting the "Sign In Here Please" sign...fingerpainting is AWESOME!!
