The Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System invites volunteers to join in welcoming home our nation's Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)veterans home at an event on Saturday, November 15th at Tucson Electric Park (TEP) from 11:00am-7:00pm. The event is being held for OEF/OIF combat veterans, active duty service members, their families and loved ones to join together with community supporters to receive information, resources, and a warm "welcome home". One of the main objectives is to disseminate information regarding benefits and services available both from the VA and in the community to this group of brave men and women. We are looking for volunteers from the community to provide the combat veterans who have served in Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom the "Welcome Home" event that they deserve. They have fought for our freedom and need to know that we are there for them and that we recognize their service and sacrifice for our country. Volunteers will assist with information and recreational booths, childrens activities, set-up and clean-up, and general guest services.
