Program name: Teen Pregnancy Education
Description : Classes provided for pregnant teens and their partner ages 13 through 21 years. Healthy Pregnancy Education consists of 3 classes which covers pregnancy nutrition, avoiding problems in pregnancy including preterm labor, discomforts, exercise, paternity establishment, abstinence, birth control, STD's, infant CPR, and adoption options. Childbirth Education classes consist of 5 classes which include labor and delivery, relaxation and breathing techniques, medications and procedures, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care. All teens that participate in classes will receive a hospital visit from their Registered Nurse Educator after the delivery to assist with additional education. A home visit is also offered if additional assistance is needed. Classes are offered in 4 different locations around Tucson.
Hours of Operation: Registration ongoing. Evening and Afternoon classes available
Eligibility Requirements: Pregnant Teens ages 13 - 21. Support Partners and Father of the Baby are welcome.
Intake Procedure: Call or walk in to register. Once registered, an appointment will be scheduled for a full face-to-face case management.
Insurance Information: We can assist you with obtaining health insurance (AHCCCS) and other state assistance.
